4 STAR ALL INCLUSIVE PUERTO VALLARTA-WORTH THE HYPE?

August 20, 2019

If you’ve been following along, y’all probably already know that we spent this past weekend in Puerto Vallarta, MX. It’s no secret that we love to visit Mexico, and Puerto Vallarta is one of our favorite destinations. I’ve written a post before on one of our favorite all inclusive resorts. Click here to read all about it.

This time we stayed at Grand Fiesta Americana all inclusive resort. This is a 4 star all inclusive adults only resort located right on the beach. TripAdvisor gave it a 4.5 rating. So your probably wondering, did I think it lived up to the hype??

Y’all know I ALWAYS give my honest review because I want to provide y’all with real feedback and give y’all insight on what our experience was like. That being said, I thought the resort itself was beautiful and the food was some of the best I’ve ever had at an all inclusive resort.

I decided to separate the ratings into categories so I could breakdown our experience. Keep in mind that this was their slow season, so our experience could have been impacted by that.

Food: 5/5 hands down! The food was amazing. You don’t need reservations, but there is a dress code for the Mexican and Asian restaurant. The hubs had sandals on which was a big no no 🙁 lol He had to go up and change (no biggie but just so you know).

Property: 4/5-The resort itself was beautiful and every room has a beach view which is a major plus! The only reason I put 4/5 stars for this was category was because I expected the pool and common areas to be just a little cleaner for being categorized as a 4 star resort.

Activities: 3/5- I wish there were activities like snorkeling or paddleboarding that were offered while we were there. Our experience with all inclusive resorts in the past offered these options and that was definitely a plus! Some of the activities they had while we were there included cooking lessons, cocktail lessons, Spanish lessons, foam party, & nightly entertainment.
Value: 5/5-We stayed for 4 nights, 5 days and paid around $900 for the both of us (all inclusive including drinks and food), which I thought was a pretty good deal. We booked it about 3 weeks prior to leaving, and scored this deal on Agoda.

Vibe: 4/5- This was an all inclusive adults only resort. The age range varied throughout – I would say anywhere from 20-70s. There were 2 main pools (one being a more chill pool and one being more of the party pool). There was also a sky lounge upstairs with an amazing view, hot tub, and chairs you could lay out on if you wanted some extra relaxation time. Also, if you wanted another chill area, they had chairs to lounge on while on the beach.

Did I think it was worth the hype? Depends on what type of vacation you are looking for. I think this would be the perfect spot to come with a huge group of friends and/or bachelorette/bachelor party. Overall, we really enjoyed our time there and we had a lot of fun! It’s really hard to compare this experience to Garza Blanca because that was one of my absolute favorite vacations and will be really hard to top!
