SANTA FE ROAD TRIP AND DOG FRIENDLY VRBO

July 11, 2019

Hey everyone! I know I’ve been MIA this week, but decided to take a little break from posting (see my Instagram caption for my thought of the day lol).

We just got back from our Santa Fe roadtrip. We decided to go out of town for the 4th of July. We love the Southwest, so we decided to take a road trip to Santa Fe again and this time we decided to take our furbabies with us. We actually took a road trip last year to Telluride, and stopped in Santa Fe along the way. If your wanting to read more about that trip, you can click here. We stayed in Santa Fe and rented a VRBO for the 3 nights we were there, and it was amazing. Not only was it dog friendly, but it was cute, affordable, and within walking distance to the downtown area. When we booked it, it was around $85 a night before taxes and cleaning fee. Here is the link of the place we stayed in case you want to take a look.

While we were in Santa Fe, we wanted to explore the food scene and also find some dog friendly breweries. We went to the following breweries and they were so much fun: Chili Line brewery (they smoke all of their own beers) and Fire & Hops.

For Breakfast, we really loved Clafoutis and Dolina. This burrito in a bowl from Dolina was one of my favorite breakfast foods I’ve ever had!

For lunch, we checked out Tune up Cafe, which was featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I got the fish tacos and they were pretty darn good!

For some reason, we had a little difficulty finding a good dinner spot lol. At one place, Trav bit into his meal and out came a piece of a plate!! Needless to say, I won’t be recommending that spot lol. Since Trav suffered that dental injury, we had to stick to soft foods for the rest of the trip (hahahahaha JK)….BUT…. we did find an amazing macaroni and cheese spot that was DELICIOUS!! It was called Theo Gio’s mac and cheese I will link it here.

Last, but not least, we drove 2 hours to Colorado and did a hike to an alpine lake. The hike was called Red Lake Trail in Southern Colorado. It was about 7 miles, but it was absolutely gorgeous. This was my first time hiking to an alpine lake, and it was really cool because there was still snow on the ground at some spots. At one point, we were trekking through the snow with the pups because we got a little lost haha.

What are some of y’alls favorite spots to vacation?
