Trav and I just got back from our California trip this past weekend so I wanted to recap some of our favorites. We booked a trip out there for the One Love Cali festival in Long Beach, but we did get to explore a little around Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Long Beach while we were there.
My one request for the trip was to stop in Beverly Hills on Rodeo drive for a little shopping. I ended up buying some Valentino sunglasses and purse – wooops! I honestly had no intentions of splurging on this trip, but I decided to treat myself lol.
We were only in Beverly Hill for a few hours, but we stopped for breakfast at the The Kind Ones, which was SOO good! Pictures definitely don’t do this place justice. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and breakfast bowl, which were both phenomenal (the bowl had the crispiest hashbrowns which made it even better- so yum!). The next place we stopped was La Colombe, which had this fabulous draft latte. I wish we had this coffee shop here in Austin, I would be there all of the time!
We spent 1 night in Santa Monica at Le Meridian Delfina Santa Monica. This hotel was adorable, and also convenient location. We would definitely stay here again.
THINGS WE LOVED IN SANTA MONICA:
For breakfast we stopped at Flake, which was technically in Venice but still close by the hotel (Trav conned me into walking here from the hotel haha). It was only a mile away from the hotel so not too bad. My breakfast bagel from there was delicious- WORTH IT lol.
For lunch, we decided to try Sugarfish for sushi because everyone raves about this place. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious, but my forever favorite will always be Uchi here in Austin!
We met up with our friends in Santa Monica, and they took us to Elephante for dinner and Bungalow to grab a drink afterwards. Highly recommend both of these places! Elephante had such great dinner and the view of the gorgeous sunset was incredible. Also, Bungalow had a really cool atmosphere and vibe for grabbing a drink at.
We spent the next 3 nights in Long Beach at the Hyatt, which was really convenient for us getting to/from the Cali One Love festival. The hotel was really nice, but area was kind of touristy. I would recommend staying in an Airbnb or another hotel if you wanted something less touristy.
Our dining experience wasn’t the greatest here ๐ but we did have 2 meals we loved that I would add to your list if your ever in the Long Beach area. We had Sweet Dixie kitchen for breakfast one morning and it was amazingg!! We also had a really great brunch at Panxa Cocina.
Thanks for stopping by. PS sorry there’s not a lot of pictures from this trip, but we spent most of the day/night at the festival. If you love reggae music, y’all need to check out the One Love cali festival next year! We’re definitely adding this one to our list!
